New Year's Eve 2024 torchlight parade and fireworks.
Please join us for our annual New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade and fireworks show. Enjoy an outdoor bonfire and watch the fireworks show from the Town of Alta and Alta Ski Area.
The bonfire will be lit at 5pm and the Torchlight Parade and Fireworks will begin at 6pm.
This is a free event for all spectators who wish to warm up by the bonfire while taking in the fireworks and parade from the Wildcat base area.
Torchlight Lift Tickets
Torchlight lift tickets will be limited to the first 500 skiing participants.
- Torchlight tickets will be available at 8am at Skier Services and Wildcat Ticket Office
- Season passholders can secure a free Torchlight lift ticket—while supplies last
- Season passes must be presented to pick up a Torchlight lift ticket
- Skiers who purchase a lift ticket for December 31st will receive a free Torchlight lift ticket
- A $10 ticket will be available for purchase to all others—while supplies last
- Pro tip: Torchlight lift tickets sold out by 10:30 am—please plan ahead
Wildcat and Collins will start loading at 5:15pm. Skiers with a Torchlight lift ticket will ride the chair one time and stage at the Collins angle station while waiting for the parade to begin.
Torchlight Participant Details
- No beginner skiers are allowed—the parade route follows intermediate terrain in low-light conditions
- Skiers must bring their own flashlight or headlamp—one that illuminates the snow in front of you on your dark (and festive) ski down
- Participants will be allowed just one ride up Collins or Wildcat
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Open containers of any type of beverage are not allowed on the lift
- Dress warm, New Year's Eve can be one of the coldest nights of the year
