Ideal for skiers on the move. Listed below are the Top Take-out Windows of Alta—in no particular order. Which take-out window is your go-to?

Baldy Brews

A longtime staple for the advanced and intermediate skiers in Collins Gulch, Baldy Brews is located on the snow level of Watson Shelter near the Collins Angle station. Baldy Brews is easily accessible from both Wildcat or Collins lifts.

Local favorites:

  • Honey Badger, a honey and cinnamon latte
  • Italian Hot Chocolate
  • Meat or Vegetarian Chili or the Soup De Jour

Cecret Coffee

Located slopeside, underneath the newly renovated Alf’s Restaurant, Cecret Coffee is the newest addition to Alta’s growing list of coffee shops with grab-and-go dining via take-out windows. Cecret Coffee, named after the popular Cecret Lake, is Alta’s best-kept secret. Its location is easy to miss, you’ve probably skied by it without noticing. Ski up to the take-out window located directly between Supreme and Sugarloaf lifts and a short ski from the top of Sunnyside.

If you aren’t in on the Cecret, you’re missing out on some of the finest espresso drinks and to-go snacks on the mountain. The slopeside location even offers some outdoor seating with great views of Devil’s Castle, Sugarloaf Peak and Greeley.

  • Peanut Butter Cup waffle with chocolate and peanut butter sauce
  • The espresso at Cecret Coffee is rumored to be the best in Alta
  • Order to-go food from Alf’s Restaurant via QR code

Alta Java

A long-time staple of the Alta community, Alta Java is a privately-owned coffee shop located on the snow level of Albion Day Lodge, next door to the Alta Ski Shop. Alta Java is a local’s favorite for coffee, espresso drinks or hot chocolate. Don’t forget about the impressive grab-and-go food menu offering up some of the best breakfast and lunch items at Alta

The ski-up take-out window is located near the Sunnyside and Albion lifts. Colorful Adirondack chairs adorn the adjacent ski beach, making Alta Java an ideal place enjoy a grab-and-go breakfast or lunch outdoors.

Local favorites:

  • Susie’s Special, a chai latte with a double shot of espresso
  • Empanadas and Quesadillas - great for breakfast lunch or a midday snack

Slopeside Joe's at the GMD Patio

Slopeside Joe’s in the Goldminer’s Daughter (GMD) has served as the de facto base lodge for skiers on the Wildcat/Collins side of the ski area.

The patio is still the place to be on a sunny day. Open from 7am-5pm. You could easily order your breakfast, lunch, and apres-ski beverage and dinner from the same take-out window on the Goldminer’s Daughter patio.

Local favorites:

  • The GMD Breakfast Burrito is a staple of early mornings at Alta
  • Buffalo Chicken Wrap—or Buffalo Cauliflower for the vegetarian skier
  • And of course, the world-famous Alta Bomb
