The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) Ski Bus is back for the 2024–25 ski season, making it easy for skiers to get to and from Alta this winter. Hop on at a UTA Ski Bus park-and-ride lot to skip canyon hassles on busy days and help reduce emissions by taking cars off the road.

Your 2024–25 Alta Season Pass, Ikon Pass and Salt Lake Ski Super Pass include the UTA Benefit—giving you free ridership on all UTA Ski Bus Routes and Trax lines.

Uta Ski Bus Route 994

The Utah Transit Authority Ski Bus will continue Route 994 from Historic Sandy Station to Snowbird and Alta.

December 8, 2025–April 12, 2025

Historic Sandy Station to Alta Ski Area

  • Route: Service starts at the Historic Sandy Station and ends at Alta at Goldminder's Daughter Lodge.
  • Schedule: Runs continuous 30-minute service throughout the day from 6am–7pm.

Ski Bus 994 Schedule & Map

UTA Canyon Service Buses—CS1 and CS2

This year, UTA brought back the old 953 route, now called the Canyon Service (CS1 & CS2). These buses run along Fort Union and Wasatch Boulevard, stopping at Snowbird Entry 1, the Snowbird Center and the Goldminer’s Daughter/Wildcat Parking Lot at Alta. Canyon Service Buses will run daily.

CS1: Midvale/Fort Union to Alta Ski Area

  • Route: Service starts at Midvale Fort Union TRAX station and ends at Alta at Goldminer's Daughter Lodge.
  • Schedule: Runs only during the morning hours of 6–8:30am and again in the evening from 5–7:30pm.

CS2: Cottonwood Heights to Alta Ski Area

  • Route: Service starts at 6200 South Wasatch Park and Ride lot (Swamp Lot) and ends at Alta at Goldminer's Daughter Lodge.
  • Schedule: Runs continuous 30-minute service throughout the day from 6am–7:30pm.

Park & Ride lots

UTA offers free parking for transit users, with single-day or multi-day options. Park-and-ride spaces are reserved for transit users on the days they park.

How to Pay:

Each one-way trip costs $5 per rider ($2.50 for qualified reduced-fare riders). You can pay using the following methods:

  • Pass: If you have a ski pass or a UTA FAREPAY Card, tap it on the card reader when boarding. For a paper pass, show it to the driver.
  • Ski Pass: Tap your Alta season pass, Ikon pass or Ski Super Pass for a free ride—Includes Trax and other UTA bus services only when used in transit with a Ski Bus Route.
  • Transit App: Purchase a mobile ticket through the Transit App and show it to the driver when boarding.
