mountain discovery with cottonwood canyons foundation
Join us every Thursday on the mountain to explore the geology and ecology of Alta with a Volunteer Naturalist Ranger from the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation. Ski mellow groomers while learning all about the Cottnwood Canyons' unique history and ecosystem on this free guided tour. Open to skiers of all abilities and ages—you're never too old to learn something new! Tours take place every Thursday from January through April, meeting at the top of the Sunnyside lift by 1pm.
If we miss you on the mountain—learn more about our watershed, mountain ecology and the environment with our Ranger Naturalist inside the Albion Day Lodge from 10:30–12:30pm on Thursdays.
Tours are weather conditions permitting.

- This is a free event, no registration is required.
- Beginner-friendly terrain, open to skiers of all abilities.
- Sunnyside lift is a five-minute ride to the top, so head up a few minutes early!
