JUNIOR EXPLORERS - JRX JR Explorers (JRX) is a recreational skiing program for children ages 6 and 7. JR Explorers focuses on making new skiing friends while developing skiing skills on easier terrain. The skiing emphasis is on balancing movements, parallel turning, relaxed gliding and skiing with a confident attitude. More difficult terrain is used very sparingly in the lesson plan. The minimum skill level to enter JR Explorers is confidently controlling speed with wedge turns on Green Trails and able to ride lifts without an adult. Approximate coaching ratio is 1 to 6 participants.
JR Explorers consists of 5 Saturdays or 5 Sundays of skiing with the same group of peers and coaches. Two 5-day Saturday sessions and two 5-day Sunday sessions are offered. Children may participate in both Session #1 and Session #2.
