Alta Skier Test is a requirement for Alta employees
and their families prior to obtaining a season pass.
The test is designed to raise awareness and increase
knowledge about skier safety issues and mountain courtesy.

Standards |
| Our
employees are an essential part of the Alta experience
and personal appearance is of utmost importance. |

Some
positions require company provided uniforms, which
must be worn while on duty. All clothing (including
uniforms), must be kept neat and clean.

Hair
must be kept neat and clean. Mustaches are acceptable
as long as they are kept clean and neatly trimmed.
Other types of facial hair are not permitted.

Visible
body piercing is not allowed with the exception of
acceptable earrings.

Alf's Restaurant in Alta, Utah is a mid-mountain restaurant & day lodge located at the base of the Sugarloaf & Cecret chairlifts. Alf's offers employment, housing, and ski benefits.
Alf's Restaurant will begin hiring for the 08-09 season in September. Employment begins in early November and continues through the middle to end of April.
We will have positions available for full-time live-in and part-time live-out cafeteria help.
-Full time live-in
The full time live-in positions are great for people who want to do a lot of skiing this winter. These jobs are 5 days per week and the hours vary, but there is ski time every day. The housing is dorm style and is located near the base of the Sugarloaf Lift halfway up the mountain. The lift is less than fifty yards from the door!

-Part time live-out
The part time position is 14 hours per week. These positions are two days a week. The hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The work includes, but not limited to food prep, deli work, bussing tables, snow removal, etc. Ski privileges are included. Housing is not available for these positions.

The Alf Engen Ski School is hiring certified professionals to teach alpine and telemark skiing to adults, children and families during the 2008 – 2009 season.
We are a skilled and dedicated staff of 100 pros teaching in a destination resort setting. Alta skiers are serious about developing their skills and expect exceptional quality and value in their ski school experience. Alta’s world famous snow, (680” of it last season), our unique terrain diversity and top ski school reputation create the opportunity to teach skiers of all levels, including a high percentage of upper level skiers, both adults and children.

Ski School Apprentice Instructor |
|
Apprentice instructors are support personnel in the operation of the children’s Ski Adventures Program. They work under the guidance of certified instructors and have the opportunity to pursue their own PSIA certification during the course of the ski season. As it will be necessary to work in alpine ski equipment, strong alpine skiing skills of advanced or higher level are required. A high comfort level working with 4-8 year old children is needed along with excellent interpersonal communication and enthusiastic customer service skills. Tolerance for hard, outdoor physical work such as lifting, bending, twisting and ability to shovel will be necessary in all weather conditions. A food handler's permit required. |
