Join Alta for its 3rd Annual community Earth Day Fair on Friday, April 12, 2013. This event will encourage environmental stewardship, responsible recreation and awareness of the relationship between climate change and the future of the ski industry in Little Cottonwood Canyon and beyond. Eco-Geared Ski Vendors

Wildcat Base – 9am to 4pm: Green-minded ski vendors and businesses from the Salt Lake Valley will be here in Alta to chat with you about their eco-conscious products and services and efforts in sustainability. Be sure to visit and help us support these local, environmentally sensitive vendors in their efforts to offer green goods and services to the community.

Green Arts & Crafts

Albion Day Lodge – 11 am to 2 pm: Kids & Adults are invited to any and all of the following fun, Earth Day projects!

Join ACE in creating an eco-friendly master piece made with reclaimed every day materials. Using paper towel tubes, recycled magazines, natural materials, and other interesting reclaimed items, you can create a paint print, a mountain Earthday crown, wrist bands, 3D sculptures, and soooo much more. Take home a reminder to love your earth ALL year round and get your creative juices flowing in beautiful Alta. Rethink ~ReUse~ ReART
Have fun with TreeUtah in making your very own hand-painted trees! Add birds, your family tree or create your own tree species in a far off land. Learn all about trees and tell your own story!
Join TreeUtah outside on the snow and make your very own Snowman! This event will be judged and prizes given away! Don't miss out! Sign up begins at 11am and judging will be at 1pm, but you are welcome to start early.

Green Science Fair

Albion Day Lodge – 10:30 am to 12 pm: Join the Community of Alta in judging the Alta School's first "Best in Show" Green Science Poster Fair! Students created a poster display to show their findings from experiments that applied a scientific problem solving process on an area of green or environmental science that they were interested in. This is a fun and educational experience for all!

Naturalist Snowshoe Tours

Meet at Albion Day Lodge – 10 am & 1 pm: Join Alta Environmental Center and TreeUtah for a fun adventure, and discover all that is wild and natural in Alta! Free snowshoe rentals available at Alta(courtesy of Alta Sports). Folks can meet just outside of the east end of the Albion Day Lodge. Tours run for about an hour and a half, because they are just so much fun!

Ski with a Ranger Tour

Meet at Bottom of Cecret Lift – 1:30 to 2:30 pm: Come practice some turns with the family, then join Cottonwood Canyons Foundation’s Ranger Tours and discover Alta in a whole new way. The tour is free, but a beginner lift ticket is needed. Purchase your all age, all day beginner passes at the Albion Ticket Office for just $38. If you are 80+, you ski FREE!

Ski Gear Recycling Drop-Off

Alta Ski Shop – 9 am to 5 pm: Looking to get rid of your old skis, boots, poles, helmets and goggles? Look no further! In partnership with Snowsports Industries America (SIA, a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization) the Alta Ski Shop will help keep your ski gear out of the landfill. Just bring your items with a $1 donation for the SIA to the Ski Shop located at the Wildcat Base.

Evening Festivities

Our Lady of the Snows – 5:00 to 8:30 pm: Join us for free appetizers and drinks après ski, then at 6pm, we will feature the award winning film "Chasing Ice".
